Day 25 → Your day, in great detail

My day in great detail…I’m not going with really great detail, but I’ll write a bit and see how long I feel like it…

Ok, so I got up at 5:55, like every day. Got ready and went downstairs to the kitchen. I usually take lunch from home, most people buy stuff, but I never really buy food unless I’m with someone else. So anyway, turns out we were out of pretty much everything, including bread. We only had a few slices and the end slices (however you call them in English). Part of it was for my dads breakfast so I had the choice between the old hard ends or the better middle slices. Well, I thought screw it, won’t kill my dad if the bread is a little hard and took out the bag with the good stuff. Then put it right back, thinking it wouldn’t kill me either. So I got the bread (with only butter since I was lazy) and a tangerine.

day #23 & day #24

Day 23 → A YouTube video

This is one of my favourite, if not my favourite Bowie video. I love how he smiles, like he’s about to crack up, and the horrible hair and outfit and the red boots! … I love the song and how he looks like so much fun.

Day 24 → Whatever tickles your fancy

I tend to adapt to the language of what I read at that moment. You just have to read a normal post when I don’t read anything and one that I wrote when having read for example a Hornby book before. It’s not that I start having great literary talent all of a sudden, I just write different from my usual style and more like the authors. I’m reading Catcher in the Rye at the moment, so I adapted a little to the way Salinger makes Holden think/talk (not in this post though)…it’s probably hard to see if you don’t really know my writing style…anyway~ whatever!

Day 22 → A website

Just one? I guess there are some sites I check daily, but they are nothing special.

I don’t really surf the net anyway, I’m pretty much goal oriented even online. I just download what I need e.g. tv shows, read some news, check my flist and read blogs and that’s it.

I did overtime today (again), so I’m kinda tired…and I still want to do some stuff…so bye!

Day 21 → A recipe

The secret to making spaghetti in my family is really simple: let the water boil over!

Not that it would do anything special for the taste or anything, it’s just that no one in this family manages to make any kind of noodles without the water boiling over.

We put the water on, throw the spaghetti in, get distracted, hear the sizzling of water on the stove and start running into the kitchen.

It’s the same for everyone, my mum, my sis, me and even my dad sometimes…

To check if they are part of the family, we probably just need to see what peoples spaghetti habits are.

Day 20 → A hobby of yours

I don’t really have any paticularely interesting hobbies. I like movies and music, and tv shows and fashion magazines, sleeping, shopping, video games, the internet, taking photos. Nothing special.

I’m actually watching Mad Man right now, so I’m a little distracted, but I didn’t want to fall behind on this again…

Day 18 → Whatever tickles your fancy

20100217-01I wonder why I have a category photo when pretty much every post of mine has a photo of something in it…

anyway, I don’t think you can see it properly, but I have new glasses. The frame is bigger, makes me look more like a nerd than I already do. Please note the space invaders shirt. I need a hair cut…maybe this weekend.

I always wanted this by the way. Actually a ton more, too, but no strange looking Nightwish shirts, no thanks, really. I was thinking more along the lines of the Ramones and Misfits or a classic Stones shirt.

Anyway, why am I writing this…I’ll just go finish reading The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, totally different from the movie, but still very good.

Day 17 → An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)

der-schrei-screamThat wasn’t easy, especially since I’m not really into art, at least not that kind.

So I decided to go with The Scream by Edvard Munch. Not because it’s a particularely pretty picture, it absolutely isn’t. However I think it really creates emotion. That’s something not a lot of paintings do, at least not for me.

Most of the time I like beautiful pictures though. The world is horrible enough sometimes, there is no need stick it in peoples faces all the time.

I also never really saw the point of a lot of modern art. I mean you can say nice colors, but you’ll never get an reaction like a painting like the Scream can create.

The Scream also has an interesting history, with one of it’s version getting stolen and all.

Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Obviously what makes you cry when hearing a song is not the song itself but the associations you have with it, except for when it is a Mariah Carey song, that just hurts. (yeah, you didn’t think I’d not do that, right?)

You could probably throw the Ballad Best album of Exile into the cd player or let Alex Band sing ballades and I’d cry like a little kid over a dead penguin.

I chose a different song though. Aoi Tori by the Gospellers. The lyrics are so sentimental, it’s really beautiful.

Day 15 → A fanfic

Now we have a problem. I have probably read two one page fanfics in my entire life.

There are probably a lot of interesting and well written fics out there, but I rarely feel like reading any. Wait, scratch rarely, I never feel like reading any.

It’s not that I hate it, but for me, there is the story of a Tv show or a book or whatever and that IS the story, all of it. It’s not that I never think further than the actual story, but I’m never passionate enough about it to actually want to read or write about it.

One thing I don’t like is real people fic though. It feels a bit rude to me. It’s writing about a real person, their thoughts and reasons, and you don’t actually know anything about them. It’s too close to making up a whole new person and sticking the name of a random celebrity on them.
