It’s 6:30 in the morning, I’ve been up for about an hour plus something. I don’t really feel like sleeping anymore, and I really couldn’t either because my back still hurts. I’ve been whining all over twitter yesterday, so I’ll spare you the details.

Anyway, I’ve been watching Jane Eyre last week and I thought it was really good. What I really liked was the character of Jane Eyre. The women is sensible, she actually thinks! There are almost no literary heroines, or female leads I can identify with, but I get her.

I like the balance between her rebellious nature and social awareness. In so many books the main character simply rejects social conventions and I think that’s very unrealistic. You can’t just say no to how things work and then be surprised that things don’t go your way, you have to live in this world after all. I like that she knows where she stands in society and that she rejects some of the rules but also accepts some.

I also understand her emotional side. I don’t know if it is in the book, too, I’m still at the part where she is at Lowood, but when later she is crushing on Rochester and starting to wear that red scarf? It’s something non-flashy people would do. There is a lot of emotionally driven stuff later on, which I really liked and understood, too, but can’t describe without telling too much of the story, so I’ll leave off here.

Like I said though, I’m not that far along with reading the book yet, I only started yesterday, so this is mostly based on the mini series. I just hope that tv and book will correlate, because I really, really, really would like to keep my girlcrush on Jane Eyre. I never like female characters, I have a hard time understanding why they do the things they do. I understand it through reasoning but there is never a time when I think “oh, I probably would do something like this, too”, I had it here and I really hope I can keep it.

Ok, so since I never actually have anything to write about, I’ll just let you take part in the awesome adventure that my boring weekend was. (It wasn’t awesome or adventurous, so this post is really just for the bored…like me)

So, Saturday I went to the post office with my sis. I now have a credit card, go me! Go to London that is, since that’s what I needed the card for. Anyway, the post office is next to the train station; train station was filled with lots of loud scary FCA fans. This last sentence doesn’t really have a point to it, but I put it there anyway.

Back at home I watched the match, which we lost (actually we got bombed) and did Sudoku. A hell lot of them. I have this book with 150 Sudoku and there were like 30 left and I did them all that day. Then I watched Barca play Sevilla, which bored the shit out of me because Barca were playing so boringly well.

Sunday I slept in (…till 10) and watched Movies. The Jonses which didn’t really have a start nor an end and was generally bla and Green Street Hooligans which was pretty much average, too. Then I took a nap and watched Özils first match, or rather half of it because when he left the pitch I went to bed for real…and this last sentence would also invite a few comments from me, if I was the one reading it, not writing it, but I’m not so I won’t go all “lol, for Real” on myself.

That was my weekend, isn’t that nice and boring. And if you are wondering why I’m writing the way I’m writing, that would be because the weather is killing me right now. It’s changing from really super hot to stormy and cold and I feel the whole transition. Stupid air pressure, go change somewhere else, I don’t need headaches and dizziness.

My sister and I went to a travel agency today because of our trip to london in september (people who follow me on twitter probably got some hints of this). We didn’t book anything, just got some information. We are going to have a little trip planning meeting next week to see what exactly we are going to do about flight and hotel and bla.

This will actually be the first time I’m going to be on a plane and the first trip I take with someone I actually want to spent time with (the other times I’ve been abroard were with school and let’s face it: school trips =/= fun). So yeah, I’m looking forward to it.

Then we went shopping for a bit and I bought two new books: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby. I just added Fight Club to my amazon wishlist this morning, saw it in the shop later and bought it. Same with Fever Pitch, though I ment to read it for a while now, since I love Nick Hornby. I don’t care much vor Arsenal (not yet anyway), but we’ll see.

My sisters comment on me buying Fever Pitch: “Now you might actually get it” (seeing as I came out as football fan in the last post)… AND I was gonna write a paragraph on how she is making fun of me now (she isn’t actually serious and I’m not annoyed yet), but I don’t feel like it anymore…so I’m going to go and sleep now.

My sister this morning: “I wouldn’t wear those jeans with converse…“
Me: “O_____O”

She just meant that her feet were enormously huge so it would look weird on her, but seriously at 6:30 in the morning you shouldn’t say stuff like that, makes you self-conscious all day. Well, not really at least it doesn’t make me feel self-conscious, not anymore anyway… As long as you own it you are all good. You could wear a potato sack you just have to look like you don’t care and everything is fine.

Change of topic: I’m really into football right now. That is football as in soccer for the readers from the US. Anyway, football, right, always has been my favourite sport, I just never watched it on club level. Well, I’m doing that now…thought you should know, so you know what I’m talking about when you don’t get me.

/update for the sake of an update

I don’t know if it was because of me or not, but I certainly wonder if I should be offended or claiming money for provided entertainment. Then again, I doubt it was because of me. There are people who walk past me and sneeze, I don’t think that’s my fault either…at least I hope so.

My dreams tend to be a bit Hollywood-esque sometimes. Like that one dream I had a few years back, that could have been a movie by Steven Spielberg or Roland Emmerich. It was a bit like the day after tomorrow, complete with huge wave eating up a Californian beach, capitol hill turning into an island, helicopters and presidents…oh and doves.

It’s actually quite confusing. When my sister and I looked up what it could mean, it said to go see a therapist as soon as possible.

As of late I keep dreaming of football, apparently the world cup has a continuation in my head. Well not really, I can only remember two of the dreams anyway.

One was last Wednesday. A family named their kid PK after Gerad Piqué from the Spanish national team. I probably dreamt that because when you go onto ONTD (yes, I read that crap, it’s amusing) or other communities, he worms his way into every comment thread. Apparently he has a lot of fans. Well the whole team has, they are building shrines for the Spanish NT. Right now everybody has the Spanish flu.

The one from tonight is so embarrassing, I don’t even want to talk about it.

It had a plastic shark, a pinstripe suit, a revolving door, the marketing consultant of my university, machineguns and a football player in it. Said football player was planning a class reunion with me and somewhere down the line gave me a hug.

Horrifying thing is I really don’t like the guy! Which is why I don’t give you his name, because I frequently proclaim my dislike of him. Everything about him just turns me off, starts with his name and does not end with his cocky face, that makes me want to punch him all the time.

He is a good player though, has some nice tricks but I don’t like players who get all “look what I can do!” during a game. Showoff ~_~ He doesn’t move either, run for Christ’s sake. Though it must be kinda cool if you don’t need to move much and get the ball anyway…like Tezuka Zone xD

Well, I don’t completely hate him, he’s good for the lulz I guess, looks stupid most of the time and he’s part of the national team that was my second favorite when I was younger, first of course always being Germany.

I dare you to take a guess. If you are right you won’t get a cookie though, seeing as I will be too embarrassed to turn on my virtual oven for baking…

I guess I can live with that, seeing as she has written “The Handmaid’s Tale”, which is supposed to be pretty good, also got some awards/nominations. Maybe I should read it, maybe I can get something from her.

Btw, if you submit something from you blog, the possibility of you getting Steven King is about 99,99%. I figured I didn’t want Steven King, I never read his books and I don’t say they are bad, I just don’t really want to write like him, so I submitted proper writing I’ve done at the end of last week.

Yeah, “proper” writing, I do that sometimes, but I can never come up with a story worth sticking with so I usually never get past the first three double-spaced pages…and then I delete everything.

I guess I might just be my worst critic, but I honestly don’t think I’m able to come up with a story, that would be worth any kind of attention, obviously not even mine. Kind of sucks because I’m pretty sure I can construct a decent sentence.

Oh well, sometime in this life I might just manage to write a five page short story…or not.

Wells whom I tend to mix up with Orson Welles, who was responsible for the epic radio adaptation of the book. Could those guys have more similar names? Yes they could, but thank you very much, I’m good with the way it is…or not since I mix them up anyway…

I was kind of reluctant to start reading it because I just finished The Kite Runner yesterday. Sometimes after I read something really good I don’t want to start a new book, because the new one won’t be as awesome as what I just read. And to be honest, I think it will take a while till I find something that can measure up to The Kite Runner.

I really only bought The Kite Runner because I heard it was good and I saw it at a little train station book shop. So I picked it up and didn’t read it until I was out of things to read. Big mistake because my first status update on Goodreads was about how I just started reading but had the feeling I would like this book. And I was right, I liked it, a lot.

It didn’t bore me, ever, it was surprising as it went some unexpected places with the story, the characters where likable and it was moving. Yeah, I just said that, moving. It almost made me cry three times and I don’t cry. Period.

If you get the chance you should definitely read it, it’s really worth the time.

This is probably no music you’ll hear in the top 10 because I really have no idea what people are listening to at the moment. Also no music that’s older than me, so you probably don’t need to worry about me going music nerd on you either. Lucky you, huh?

1. Alex Band - We’ve all been there
I really like his music, it’s …good? Not in an evaluation of quality kind of way, then it would be great, but I mean in the lyrics and melody and music kind of way? Yeah, sometimes I don’t get myself either. Through listening to his music i just get he feeling he’s a good guy, obviously I can’t say if it’s true because I don’t know him, but his music gives him that kind of image. (That’s meant as a compliment btw, I know guys don’t want to be the nice guy.)
I love his solo work and I loved the calling and anyway, I kinda worship the ground he’s recording on.

2. Alexz Johnson - Voodoo
Let’s just forget that she was in that instant star thing because this album doesn’t sound like it. It has a few songs that sound rather film noir updated, I really like that. The one thing that sounds off though is the song “LA Made Me”, who the hell thought this song would fit in with the rest? I mean it’s not a bad song, it just destroys the flow of the album for me. Still like it though.

3. The Like - Release Me
As you can probably guess from the cover, those girls like the 60s and so do I. I tend to draw comparisons to The Pierces because they have similar topics and lyrics in their songs. The music is totally different though.
The whole 60s revisited thing makes the album really fun to listen to. It’s also kind of girly, so if you are having a moment with your nail polish this CD would probably be a nice soundtrack.

4. Wakey!Wakey! - Almost Everything I Wish I’d Said The Last Time I Saw You
Yeah, bigass title that is. Wakey! Wakey! is taking the crown from the arctic monkeys for that. First heard them on One Tree Hill (the show can’t end there is NO show that can fill the musical void it will leave behind). I actually had trouble to find a song for this post because I really like all of them. “Almost Everything”, “Dance so good”, “1876 - The Brooklyn Theatre Fire” I think they are all great. In the end I choose “Light Outside” because it was the first one I heard.

This is fun, I should do it more often.
